The Western Australian Business and the Environment Manual

This page contains instructions for first time users and people with limited experience of the internet. The majority of topics and pages have a "Quick Reference Guide" and a "Detailed Reference Guide". As the names imply the "Quick Reference Guide" contains basic information and is in html (normal internet format). While the "Detailed Reference Guide" covers the topic in much greater depth, these documents are in .pdf format, and links to these documents are located at the top of the respective webpages. Users of the Business and the Environment Manual need to have Adobe Reader installed on their computer to be able to read these documents. If required the reader can be downloaded free of charge from

Writing which is blue, and when the pointer is hovered-over turns into a hand will link to another webpage, click when hand appears to open the new page.

The size of the writing (font) can be changed by the following steps.
1. Placing the mouse over "View" in the top toolbar.
2. Scrolling down to "Text Size" and choose and clicking on the required size.

The printer friendly versions of most documents are available by clicking on the "print version" located at the top of the page. This permits printing without the inclusion of the navigation aids at the top and left of each web page. To return to the original page you will need to click on the "Back" button at the top left-hand side of page.

When navigating webpages which are of a pdf format (the web-address ends in .pdf), the back button will return to the start of the previously viewed document and not the position last viewed. For this reason and therefore to save time if possible only link from a pdf file if you have completed your review of that document.
