The Western Australian Business and the Environment Manual

Managing your impacts

Now that environmental management and the environmental impact of business activities have been explained one question remains . . . How do you prevent or minimise your business' impact?

This section explores each of the categories of environmental management. In each section, designated by a summary icon, the benefits and obligations of environmental management are summarised. Best practice options for your business are described (including examples of how other businesses have improved their operations) and important contacts and other sources of assistance are provided, including a link to a detailed reference material.

This section deals with environmental management for business by issue.  The Department of Environment has also covered this topic for many business sectors through a directory of links to sector-specific codes of practice and other information.
