The Centre of Excellence in Cleaner Production is supported by The Waste Management Board and Resources Industry to resource Small Business and its Stakeholders to the implementation of Cleaner Production.

Malaga project and Guidance Manual for working with SMEs

Thanks to SEDO funding, the City of Swan recently provided Malaga businesses with a rare opportunity to obtain free, on-site, expert assistance to uncover profits hidden in operating costs.

Staff from Curtin University's Centre of Excellence in Cleaner Production (CECP) undertook telephone interviews with 44 Malaga businesses leading to 23 on-site efficiency appraisals across a range of business sectors.

As part of the project CECP has also produced a Guidance Manual to assist local government officers in the promotion of Cleaner Production improvements in small businesses.
