The Centre of Excellence in Cleaner Production has been established with support from the Waste Management and Recycling Fund at Curtin University of Technology, to promote the uptake of cleaner production and waste minimisation activities in Western Australia.

Helping your Dry Cleaning business improve its Eco-Efficiency

Drycleaners Case Studies
Atlas Dry Cleaners (Wally Bullo)
Herdsman Dry Cleaners (Wayne Fowler)
Top Hat Dry Cleaners (Laurie Metropolis)

The Centre has developed an Industry Best Practice program in close collaboration with the Drycleaning Industry Association (DIA) including the formation of a Drycleaners Cleaner Production Club. This program is ongoing and open to all drycleaners in Australia. If you wish to participate in this program please complete the baseline survey or environmental scorecard and return it to the address included on the forms. After the Centre receives your data we will produce a report for you which indicates how your business's environmental performance and costs compare with Australian Industry Best Practice standards. The checklist is for your information and use.

Any improvements in environmental performance at your business has spin-offs to many other areas of your business such as: a better safety record; improved product quality and lower rejects and rework rates; healthier financial returns; increased environmental compliance; attracting new customers; adding to the capital value of your business; and increased employee productivity.
