Life Cycle Assessment Research

plants

SEG has been researching and conducting LCA assessments across a variety of industries for anumber of years in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change, the Grains Research and Development Commission (GRDC), Department of Agriculture and Food, WA, Department of Primary Industries, Victoria, the WA Sustainable Energy Association, Enterprise Connect (Federal Govt), Worley Parsons and Recom Engineering, and also with local environmental consulting firms.

SEG has carried out significant LCA research on grain production, building materials, transportation technologies, energy technologies and minerals' production.

Current research is conducting LCA analysis on mining and resource industry by-products, including bauxite residues, fly ash, slag, and red mud, in order to reduce the ecological footprint of production through eco-efficiency strategies of reduce, reuse and recycling resource strategies.
